Zazie Bowen's research focuses on childhoods in South Asia with an interest in children's own knowledge making. She has researched peer play in rural Odisha as a mode of cultural expression and a lens through which to understand young people's engagement with rural transtions. Zazie also researches how various forms of public, private and public-private-partnerships in schooling impact young people from marginalised communities in Odisha.
