Nadine Vanniasinkam is a PhD candidate in Anthropology at the School of Culture History & Language in the College of Asia and the Pacific. Her doctoral research focuses on the discourses and practices that shape coexistence and contestations among different ethnoreligious communities around sacred spaces in post-war Sri Lanka. Nadine holds a Masters degree in Applied Linguistics from the University of Melbourne, a BA (Hons) in English Language and Literature from the University of Colombo and an LLB from the University of London.

Research Interest

Religion, nationalism, minority identity politics, reconciliation, ethics, the role of the arts in fostering community and shared identities with gender as a crosscutting focus.
