Dr. Kelzang T. Tashi is an anthropologist trained at the Australian National University in Canberra, Australia. Currently, he is a Humboldt Postdoctoral Fellow in the Department of Anthropology at the South Asia Institute (SAI), Heidelberg University, and a Visiting Fellow in the Department of Anthropology at the London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE).

He was previously a Postdoctoral Fellow at the Asia Research Institute, National University of Singapore, and a Research Associate at the Asian Institute, University of Toronto. Dr. Tashi uses ethnographic methods to study the intersection of religion, society, kinship and gender, health and indigenous healing, migration, and the environment, with a regional focus on the eastern Himalayas. His first book, based on a PhD dissertation, was published by Oxford University Press (New York) as part of the American Academy of Religion Book Series.
