Geoff Piggott is a PhD candidate in the School of Gender, Media and Cultural Studies. His research examines shifts in cultural power dynamics between India and Australia through the lens of cricket, focusing on the way India’s growing power in the sport has been projected to Australian audiences, and how this projection mediates new challenges and possibilities between the countries. His fascination with the way India is understood in Australia began when he lived in Mumbai over a decade ago. Before commencing his doctoral program, he completed a Masters of Asian and Pacific Studies at ANU.
