Lecturer Urdu @ Humboldt University of Berlin | PhD in Islamic Studies , Gender & Religion Postdoc exploring Women's Professionalization in Muslim Asia At the Institute of Asian and African studies, I collaborate with a transregional team of experts on the research project: Women's Pathways to Professionalization in Muslim Asia. Our aim is to understand how Muslim women integrate religious knowledge into their professional lives, across diverse fields and contexts in Asia. Within the area of South & South-East Asian Islam my research interests include gender and religion, language, eco-theology and Islam, Social media Islam, and religious consumer identities. I have over 10 years of experience in teaching and researching Islamic studies, both in Pakistan and Germany. My doctoral project investigated the worldview of female madrasa students in Pakistan through discourse analysis.
