This film is about Karam, a boy at the Doon School, perhaps the most famous and prestigious boys’ boarding school in India. He is about to enter the second year of his life at the school, moving to Jaipur House, where for the first time he must mix with older boys. He plays hockey, studies, sings, and struggles to settle into the House. Here he must contend with the authority of older boys but also find a way to make his mark as an individual. He finds it in gymnastics, for which he has an aptitude.

Presented by the ANU Visual Anthropology Forum, from the new series, ‘Films of Childhood’.
