SARI is delighted to provide details of the various funding opportunities available for SARI members in 2017.
- Student support for travel to conferences, workshops, archives or for fieldwork – Grants of up to $800.
- SARI annual workshop/ conference – One Grant of up to $5,000.
*Both of these are competitive Grants, with applications due by 15 July 2017.
- Funding to support ad hoc visiting speakers for occasional lectures and talks – Grants of up to $500.
(An application is required, but these are assessed on a rolling basis until all funds are exhausted).
We estimate SARI would fund 3-4 visiting speakers. The occasional talks/lectures are typically delivered by interesting and relevant academics who are based in Australia or visiting Australia and who you may be keen to invite to the ANU. Each SARI member may nominate one speaker each year. Selection criteria includes the eminence of the speaker, the relevance of the talk to SARI and its members, the other engagements that the visiting scholar may undertake. The funding for occasional lectures is on-going.
Details of all three funding opportunities are available on the SARI webpage – http://sari.anu.edu.au/grants/.
